Clothing manufacturers in Istanbul.

Istanbul is where much of Turkey’s cut and sew, sampling and finishing happens, at one end of the knitwear and jersey belt that runs to Bursa. Send one brief: we place it with the factory in our group built for your product, and that factory bills you directly.

How a brief runs

How a brief for Istanbul actually runs.

Sampling rooms sit close to the production floors here, which helps when a style needs several rounds. The timings are the same ones we plan every brief with.

  1. 01

    Send the briefDay 0

Product, fabric, pieces per style, target date and where the goods land. A photo or a reference garment is enough to start.

  2. 02

    We replywithin 24 hours

An honest answer on fit. Our fee, if your project needs one, is quoted in writing before any work starts and is never tied to order size.

  3. 03

    The factory choiceabout a week

We place the brief with the factory in our group built for your product, fabric and quantity. In Istanbul that is usually a jersey, knitwear or fleece line. You have one point of contact from sample to delivery.

  4. 04

    Pattern and samples2–4 weeks

Pattern to first sample in 10–14 days, then a round of corrections. You approve the sample, and bulk starts from it.

  5. 05

    Bulk and shipping6–8 weeks

Bulk from the approved sample for the products made most here. The factory bills you directly; your forwarder confirms the transport.

If the best line for your product is elsewhere in Turkey, we tell you and place the brief there. Plan with the 14-week rule: start at least 14 weeks before a fixed ship date.

The region in context

Istanbul and the belt around it.

Production rarely stays inside one city. This is how Istanbul connects to the rest of the map for the briefs we place, plus some general background.

Schematic, not to scale · no transit times implied

  • BursaWhere we produce

The other end of the knitwear and jersey belt. A jersey or knitwear brief can go to either city.

  • ÇorluRegional background

West of Istanbul, Çorlu is widely associated with textile dyeing and finishing mills.

  • DenizliWhere we produce

Terry towelling quoted in Istanbul usually comes from Denizli, in the Denizli-Izmir cluster of woven and fabric mills.

  • GaziantepWhere we produce

Where we produce most denim and outerwear.

“Where we produce” is how our group works today. “Regional background” is general, widely known context, not a claim about our factories. Neither is a factory count: we never publish one per city.

FAQ · Istanbul

Istanbul questions brands ask first.

Choosing a factory, the wholesale markets, minimums, timing and duty. Anything else, put it in your brief.

Let the product decide. We place your brief with the factory in our group built for your product, fabric and quantity. If that line is in Istanbul, good; if it is in Bursa or Gaziantep, we tell you why.

Those are wholesale markets. They sell finished stock by the piece from showrooms, not production of your own design under your label. If you want your own style made, send a brief.

Most factories in our group start at 100 pieces per style. Denim and activewear usually start at 200, outerwear and tailoring at 150. We confirm the exact minimum before you commit.

Plan around 10–15 weeks from brief to goods ready: 2–4 weeks of sampling, then 6–11 weeks of bulk depending on the product. With a fixed ship date, start at least 14 weeks before it.

Usually not customs duty: clothing in free circulation in Turkey that travels with an A.TR movement certificate usually enters the EU without it. Import VAT and your broker’s fee still apply. For the UK, zero tariff depends on the rules of origin. This is general guidance, not customs advice: check with your broker.

Step 1 of your brief

What are you making, and how many?

T-shirts and knitwear are pre-ticked, the products most brands bring to Istanbul. Change them freely, pick the pieces per style, and the brief opens with both filled in.
